About the Author

Todd Hido (born in Kent, Ohio, 1968) is a San Francisco Bay Area-based artist. His photographs are in the permanent collections of the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York; Solomon R. I'd give this excellent book an unequivocal 5 stars if it weren't for the fact that about 10% of the photos are spread between two pages with the crease of the page ruining the presentation of the photo (at least to my taste).However, the other reproductions are of excellent quality and the book is a very good survey of Hido's oeuvre.I am baffled by why an artist would allow their work to be printed across pages with the crease in the middle. It prevents the viewer from seeing the photo accurately and without distraction. I'd much prefer to view a smaller representation of the photo than see it this way.
