Informative and Startling!This is a book that you need to be careful to understand exactly what is being communicated between the lines- because rich and powerful people have been changing laws for years that are affecting all of us. This book has nothing to do with those who are changing the laws it is their insights and desires and accumlative research. You might want to write in a notebook while your reading this book and research the organizations and ideas the book discusses. This would give you a much clearer picture. Lots of acronyms WHO, IMF, WWF, WMO WRI, So many there is a section in the beginning of the book to help you keep up. A lot of the information seems right and good, very good-However, even though they have so many suggestive plans for they organizations who are involved, it left me with feeling, "Lord, what can I do to help. The world's in a mess, I want to help?"I do agree with a lot of the information in this book- for instance, we don't need more weapons in the world- we need more humanity.However, concerning food production, I don't think that it should be the United Nations responsibility to provide food for the world- this responsibility should fall to ourselves and our education of ourselves to garden more- to learn what is edible on our lands- to grow and cultivate fruit/nut trees and all these sort- But, now a days we have been getting out of school and not even a bit of knowledge of how to care for our needs- only to be able to work for the man or the mammon as some might say. Our agriculture education needs to be enhanced, greatly.This book talks a lot about sustainable growth and of increasing the GNP of our economies - this would add more taxes to our government.A wealth of information- you need to read it!

This text was super boring. I HAD to read part of it for a class. I wouldn't waste your time on this book when there are much better ones available on the same subject.
