After being completely transfixed by Brittany while attending one of her herbal workshops in Salem, I was delighted to find out that she was publishing this cook book.I received the book Saturday, and on Sunday my partner and I cooked the Crispy Sage and Roasted Garlic Risotto for dinner. I lived in Florence for a short time and was able to take cooking classes while there. This risotto beats out all the recipes I learned there.Brittany is such an insightful, soothing, and kind teacher- her presence shines through in this book. Reading her anecdotes, prepping the recipe, and cooking this delicious meal was a healing process from start to finish. Thank you for this book! I highly recommend it. Looking forward to making more of the recipes!

Outstanding writing! I purchased this book on Kindle for $2.51 and after reading it, I am purchasing the hard book cover for the full price. It will be every pennies worth. This author's writing makes it easy to ready and understand. Howerver, at the same time her writing gives you a sense of peace and even hope for the new season. It feels like she relates to her reader. The recipes are wonderful and easy to follow, but advanced enough to keep the experienced herbalist like myself invested. This is most defiantly a book I will keep in my kitchen and a book to hand down to my daughter. Looking forward this author's next book.

What a lovely book. There are so many ways to approach it: as a cook, as a gardener, as an amateur herbalist. I appreciate that, besides having lots of wicked good recipes, this book includes basic instructions for things like making hydrosols, tinctures, lacto-fermentation, and even bubbly (possibly alcoholic...) drinks. Above all, this book is utterly nonjudgmental. The subtext is absolutely friendly, encouraging everyone to find, above all, what works best for them.

Since I received this book in the mail I have not stopped trying the recipes! From the Butternut squash with lentils and walnuts, to the elderberry syrup recipe, I am in love with the simplicity & tastiness of these recipes. The photos and the knowledge within add to the overall beauty of this amazing cookbook. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants some new recipe ideas & enjoys cooking with real foods and delicious herbs.

As an herbalist and acupuncturist I use this as a resource for my clinic and classes.

I was looking for a cookbook that had many recipes to help me add in a variety of herbs to my diet to balance my body, as people in years past used to do. This book has a lot of information but not a lot of recipes and not much herbal variety. I was disappointed.

I love everything about this book! From it's size, gorgeous pictures and lovely snippets of various herbs and how to use them. The recipes are amazing! I tried a simple recipe on page 176, Apple and Parsley Salad. The flavors are exquisite! Even my hubby and son enjoyed it. The Rosemary Hair Rinse is delightful and makes my stressed out hair so soft. I wasn't sure about the Lavender and Rose Tapioca. I'm very sure about it now! Then there's the Braised Chicken with Shallots and Figs on pages 146-147. Heaven! Who would have thought cooked figs tasted so good. Highly recommend.

My son who refuses to eat his greens loves the parsley apple salad.
